Hi, jazz man or jazz woman, and welcome to my 'secret project' - "Take the 'A' Train To Saratov"! On this page, my 'hidden' life as a jazz piano player is represented:). To give you an idea, my influences are (alphabetically) - Chick Corea, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Keith Jarreth, Kenny Kikland, Michail Okun', Oscar Peterson, McCoy Tyner... - well, everybody:). I sometimes play at home on my digital 'Technics Sx Px-226" - which I love so much. It has a very nice, 'real' grand piano sound and touch, as well as a simple build-in sequencer, which allows me to add bass lines to my piano solos. Below you will find some tunes which I recorded for myself during last year or so. Two songs (Ellingtone's "Take the 'A' Train" and Russian pop song of the 50-s "There're so many bachelor guys on Saratov's streets":)) gave the name to this 'album'...:-). It's all about blend of different cultures and is another attempt to prove that music is a universal language...:). The recording quality is pretty bad (first, I recorded on tape, and only later my friend gave me a device for digitizing). But what makes it even worse is that I'm not a professional piano player...:-) Still, some of my friends seemed to enjoy my improvisations, so I decided to share a few of them with the Web. If you are interested in ideas rather than in performance quality, you might even like it..:). I'd be very glad to hear your opinion anyway - please let me know what you think. | ||
